Two months ago the website Litbreak published my story Red Squirrels. I should’ve mentioned it then, but you know how thing sometimes just get away from you.

Anyway, I’m really proud of this story. It was a stretch stylistically and subject-wise. A chronology-hopping mosaic portrait of the life of Elizabeth Siddal, the sometime muse, lover and eventual wife to the pre-Raphaelite painter Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Told from Siddal’s perspective no less.

If you get a chance, please have a read of Red Squirrels or of any of the great fiction and poetry on Litbreak.
